January 16 Sledding and shabu shabu with friends

This was such a fun day! We ventured up to a ski slope that was a couple hours drive away.  We were able to rent a couple of sleds, and find a nice little hill where the kids played until they were all soaked to the bone.  The snow was quite wet, so the getting soaked part happened a lot faster than we'd planned.  Still, every had a great time!

The littlest two had frozen piggies and hands.  Luckily, we found this blow dryer in the bathroom to try and get them warmed up quickly.  Our snow gear was no match for the snow this day.

We had a delicious dinner afterward.  It was our first time trying shabu shabu, and we were hooked!  You could say shabu shabu is the Japanese equivalent of fondue style dinner where you have your pick of meet, veggies, and noodles to cook in a big pot of boiling broth at your table. Then you get to choose from several tasty sauces to cover your food in. This was the day Milo discovered that he loves curry rice! Hurray for something new!
