Stuff, date nights, andToby turned 5!

Last week got our last shipment of stuff.  I was both thrilled, and disgusted.  I love my green couch, and piano, but we truly live in a consumerist world. I was so ready to throw out half of our stuff that was delivered to us.  But, I will settle for a little here, and a little there because I'm sure my family would not love it if I got rid of all the things.                                                                                                                         Thank goodness our giant green sectional comes apart at each individual seat! Blake was able to arrange so it fits just right in our family room.  I'd forgotten how big our tv is!  It now seems almost too big after having our loaner tv that was much smaller. I can't look at the whole screen at once! haha.

Also, we are sneezing soooooo much and having crazy allergies after having our stuff delivered.  We are allergic to our stuff. (its probably mold 😒)

Stuff, stuff and more stuff

The day after our stuff arrived, we finally had our first date night in Japan!  It was weird to be out without the kids.  And, it was awesome.  😁  We went to this restaurant affectionately known as "The Chicken Shack" amongst the expats here.  Its real name is Irori Sanzoku. It was a fun experience! We drove up this mountain road in the dark, and then BAM - lights!  So many lights up in the forest surrounding this restaurant and the little market next to it.  There seemed to be two restaurants, and it took us a while to figure out which one we were supposed to go to (nothing in english), but I figured the one with the long line of locals would be the one with the best food.  It was the right line.  We ordered our food at a window and then took our ticket up into the restaurant, or forest as it happened to be.  We gave a server our ticket, and picked out a table - a short table that you sit at on the ground, and yes, everyone sitting at a table was shoeless.  There were lights all around to provide a relaxing evening atmosphere. The weather has been slowly shifting toward autumn, and it actually felt good to be outside, for a change.  Our food was tasty, and the barbeque chicken on a stick that they are known for was delicious!  It was such an enjoyable night out experiencing something new together. ❤ The first of many date nights to come!

Monday was Labor Day, and the day that Toby was born 5 years ago. Time can slow down now!  How is this boy already 5 years old!  It seems like just the other day when he would wake up from his nap just after Milo went down for his, and I would take him into my bed for some snuggles.  He would tell me all the animal sounds, we would sing some songs, and he would smile so big because he loved that quiet alone time with his mama. ❤❤❤  I miss those moments for sure.

We ventured up to Hiroshima where we had planned to go to a trampoline park called Get Air.  Its just over an hour drive, and we were so sad when we got there, and found out it was closed because of the typhoon that had just passed.  So so sad.  We had already planned to try Costco again since we would be in the area, and ended up spending a good chunk of time there looking at Halloween and Christmas decorations.  We left most of our decorations in storage in the states because we were expecting to be in a home with little to no storage space.  We actually have a lot of storage space where we are now, so we're excited to stock up on some new decorations!  The boys picked out some Halloween costumes, we got a fun pumpkin decoration, bought too many groceries, and then grabbed pizza for lunch while we were there.  The sad birthday was turning around.  Pizza a halloween stuff will do that for ya.  😊

We heard about a great playground that was on our way home. We decided to stop by there to check it out, but it too was closed.  Who knew they would shut so much down because of a possible typhoon?  Now, we know.                                                                                                            Toby opened presents at home, and then we headed to Chilis for his birthday dinner.  The kid loves tortilla chips - they're basically a food group for him, so he was not disappointed about celebrating there with endless chips and salsa.  He chose the giant cookie with ice cream for his birthday dessert.  It was a good time.  I love this little dude.

New halloween costume!

Taking a breather after running obstacles outside of Chili's to burn off some sugars.

I am out of time for now, but we did some work on the yard and house the day after Toby's birthday and had some fun at the beach that evening.  I also bought some super cute halloween decorations second hand.  We are set for October 31st!

Teach 'em young!👍👍👍 I love that we have this little mower and that my boys actually want to use it!

Blake rigged up these awesome wood shutters to our cage doors. No more ugly black prison bars!  It looks sooo good! I'm so grateful for a husband who listens to what I want and makes it happen. ❤

Can't complain about the view

I was thrilled to find several pieces of sea glass at Glass Beach this time.

How will I ever be able to not live near the beach?
