December 24. The holidays were a glorious time for us. We had Christmas music playing almost constantly on Alexa, we had dance parties in the kitchen and all over the house, we were baking up a storm of some of our most favorite cookies to deliver, and almost every night, we'd snuggle up on the couch together to watch a Christmas movie. Bliss. ❤
Unfortunately, Blake had to go out of town for a few days the week of Christmas. He got back on the 24th, and it really felt like it was time to celebrate! We delivered a ton of cookies and snacks to the police officers that were on duty on Christmas eve. We are so grateful for those who have to work when the rest of us get to celebrate. 🙏
Cookie delivery.
We were excited to show Blake the Christmas star that we had seen while he was out of town.
We made cookies for Santa and got to enjoy some of the extras together while we watched The Polar Express. "Seeing is believing. But, sometimes the most real things in the world are the things we can't seee". Love this movie! So much good symbolism in it.
There was so much excitement (or sugar buzzing) in the air as the boys anticipated the jolly Christmas visitor who was on his way to our house.
I loved the Daiso (dollar store) decorations that we had on every wall in this room. ❤ And, I'm kind of a mean mom because I won't let the kids eat on the couch (I hate vacuuming crumbs out of the couch) but Blake and I are definitely allowed to eat on the couch. 😆
Boss baby in the house! This is his royal highness's favorite spot on the couch.😂
I miss the beach bum golden locks....sigh.
Santa puts in special requests for his annual refreshment: always eggnog, and this year chocolate chip cookies were added to the request. I also made bomb eggnog cookies and my mom's cookies that are my most favorite - the soaker cookie. 😋
This was our first year truly on our own at Christmas time, and while we very much missed all of our other family, we really loved all the special time we had together as our own little clan, celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ.
And here's a super cute video from when we were leaving the sea wall after showing Blake the Christmas star. 👇
