Hot as Hades

Its hot.  Really hot.  But we've decided to embrace the heat and make the most of it.  We know we're going to be really sweaty at all times when we're outside. We just accept it and carry a ton of water with us wherever we go.  We don't have a car right now, so we get to do lots of walking, or sometimes phone a friend to give us a lift.  On Monday, Blake and I went to the theater down the street, where we got to sit for hours for a fairly boring orientation.  We also took our driving class and test, and both passed.  We walked to the post office, the food court on base, and then back home.  Luckily, all these places are within a mile of our house, so it wasn't bad; just hot. A friend took the boys to her house for the day where they were so happy to have some other kiddos to interact with.  We are so grateful for some awesome friends. 💓

Tuesday, Blake walked all over Timbuktu to find us a car. And his walking paid off!  He found the perfect mini van with awesome AC and a back up camera (must haves here) that will be ready for pick up at the end of the week. Blake is my hero.  He's done all of this with no complaining, and made sure to get exactly what I wanted.  ❤❤❤

All the used vehicles available nearby are older, with super low miles, and only cost a few thousand.  This is a 2007 with 55k kilometers. 👍

We are so looking forward to being able to drive ourselves places!  Hopefully to the beach this weekend!  There is a beach here called Glass Beach that I'm excited to check out! Apparently, its common to find sea glass washed up on the beach.  I can't wait to start my new collections.  I sent a box of shells and rocks into storage back in SoCal.  Its the little girl in me.  I still love to collect pretty things.

Housing offered us an almost new 3 bed duplex to move into because of the bug problem we had - emphasis on the word HAD.  I saw a baby roach a day or two after we sprayed Raid all over, and since then, only a few ants.  Hallelujah!  Crisis averted! We toured the 3 bedroom option, and it was new and nice and pretty, and the location couldn't have been better with only a 5 min walk to school, commissary, MCX, post office, but after praying about and discussing the pros and cons, we made the decision to stay put. We have a lot of space in our 4 bedroom house, and a ton of storage areas, and there is room outside for all of our toys.  We are a bit further from all the places, but we are closer to the bigger, shaded parks with swings - big plus!  We visited all of those parks yesterday.  It was a sweaty, good time!

This boy... he asked me to take his picture several times at the parks.  😆  Of course its easy to comply with that request.  Love my little dudes. 💙💙💙

We have this little canal that runs behind our house, and it is full of some huge fish and turtles.  However, we have been told to stay out of it, and that if we accidentally fall in, we will be sent to medical for all kinds of shots and screenings.  Probably just a good way to scare people away from the water. 😆

This was one of the pros about staying in the house we're in.  We get to see the beautiful sunsets from our second floor. I am a sucker for a good sunset, or even just an okay one. God knows its my love language. 💖
